{"id":12383,"date":"2019-12-13T12:04:42","date_gmt":"2019-12-13T17:04:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/techlink.mynetworkcontent.com\/?p=12383"},"modified":"2019-12-13T12:04:42","modified_gmt":"2019-12-13T17:04:42","slug":"broken-or-loose-engine-ground-cable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/?p=12383","title":{"rendered":"Broken or Loose Engine Ground Cable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A broken or loose engine ground cable\/strap on some 2019-2020 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 models equipped with the 2.7L engine (RPO L3B), 5.3L engine (RPO L84) or 6.2L engine (RPO L87) may result in the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engine does not start after an Auto Stop event<\/li>\n<li>Intermittent no crank<\/li>\n<li>DTCs set (any of the following DTCs: U0102, U0284, U0285, U0672, P0617, P26E6, P305D, U111A, U111E, U1348)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Inspect the engine to body ground cable strap, G132 (Fig. 16, #1) and G134 (Fig. 16, #2) for any damage or loose connections.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12378\" src=\"https:\/\/techlink.mynetworkcontent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/F16-ground-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/F16-ground-1.jpg 740w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/F16-ground-1-300x195.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/F16-ground-1-85x55.jpg 85w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/F16-ground-1-200x130.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><strong>Fig. 16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tighten any ground connections that are loose (Fig. 17) or replace the ground cable\/strap if it is damaged.
