The Tremec DCT TR9080 dual clutch transaxle (RPO M1L) features a transmission cartridge filter (Fig. 24) that should be replaced at the initial 7,500-mile (12,000-km) maintenance service.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15307\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F24-filter-Corvette-Transmission-R.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F24-filter-Corvette-Transmission-R.jpg 740w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F24-filter-Corvette-Transmission-R-300x195.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F24-filter-Corvette-Transmission-R-85x55.jpg 85w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F24-filter-Corvette-Transmission-R-200x130.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><strong>Fig. 24<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vehicles that have the first scheduled maintenance performed at 7,500 or within the first year of ownership should have the transmission filter (Fig. 25) carefully removed and double-bagged for return to the Warranty Parts Center.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15308\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F25-filter-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F25-filter-2.png 740w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F25-filter-2-300x195.png 300w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F25-filter-2-85x55.png 85w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/F25-filter-2-200x130.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><strong>Fig. 25<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once the filter is removed from the transmission:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not drain the filter by turning it upside down.<\/li>\n<li>Do not allow the filter to contact any foreign surface, such as the oil drain pan, before placing into the bag.<\/li>\n<li>Be sure to tag the bag with the VIN and vehicle mileage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After the claim is paid, a parts return request will be generated for the filter to be returned to the Warranty Parts Center.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to follow all steps in the Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement (Cartridge) procedure in the appropriate Service Information. In addition to a new filter, a new filter seal (Fig. 26, #3) and new fluid filter cover bolts (Fig. 26, #1) must be installed.
