(Fig. 12) DTC C1114 (Trailer Brake Control Solenoid Valves Control Circuit) may be set and a Service Trailer Brake System message may appear on the Driver Information Center.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17943\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F12-trailer-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F12-trailer-2.png 740w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F12-trailer-2-300x195.png 300w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F12-trailer-2-85x55.png 85w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F12-trailer-2-200x130.png 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><strong>Fig. 12<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The trailer brakes may be disabled if the customer\u2019s trailer has a solar panel battery charger or generator. If the trailer\u2019s battery becomes fully charged and has a higher charge than the vehicle\u2019s battery, it can feed back into the trailer brake control module, causing it to shut down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anytime the vehicle\u2019s battery state of charge is lower than the trailer\u2019s battery, this condition may occur. Once the vehicle\u2019s charging system brings the vehicle\u2019s battery up to a higher state of charge, the condition should no longer occur and the trailer brakes will work as normal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If diagnosis shows the trailer brake is disabled, replace the trailer brake control module. (Fig. 13, Tahoe shown) An updated part is available.
