After performing the latest update, it may not be possible to connect to the MDI 2 via Wi-Fi. This condition can be corrected by changing the location settings on the PC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The point-to-point connection (Fig. 11) establishes a private wireless connection between the MDI 2 and the PC and allows the PC and MDI 2 to be moved outside the range of the shop\u2019s wireless network<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19511\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/F11-MDI-dongle-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" \/><strong>Fig. 11<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To update the settings on the PC, click the Windows button on the PC taskbar and search for Location Privacy Settings. The settings for \u201cLocation services\u201d and \u201cLet apps access your location\u201d should be turned on. (Fig. 12) These updated settings should allow the MDI 2 wireless dongles to connect to the PC.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19512\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/F12-MDI-dongle-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" \/><strong>Fig. 12<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>TIP:<\/strong> Although a wireless setup provides a flexible connection for technicians, it\u2019s also the least reliable method of connection due to possible interference issues that can be experienced in the shop environment.
