The update will download and install automatically upon logging into Techline Connect with the proper administrative rights. (Fig. 1)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Technicians must install this GDS2 core update with administrative rights by March 16 in order to use future diagnostic packages.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>TIP: <\/strong>If GDS2 is not updated, it will not be able to be used with any new deliverable starting March 17 and technicians may encounter issues that prevent GDS2 from being used entirely.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19611\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/F01-GDS2-image-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" \/><strong>Fig. 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When updating from one core version to the next, many firewalls\/antivirus programs will recognize it as a new application. It may be necessary to engage your dealership\u2019s local IT support to ensure Techline Connect is entered as an exception in these programs to allow normal functionality.
