In many cases, the oil leak may be caused by damaged engine oil cooler seals (Fig. 3) and not the oil cooler.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20153\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/F03-Diesel-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" \/><strong>Fig. 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspect the oil cooler area for oil seepage. (Fig. 4) If a leak is found, remove the oil cooler and check the seals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20154\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/F04-Diesel-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" \/><strong>Fig. 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the engine oil cooler seal is visually damaged or has debris on it that may cause a leak, replace the oil cooler seal.
