{"id":21125,"date":"2026-04-27T23:12:49","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T03:12:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/?p=21125"},"modified":"2026-04-27T23:12:49","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T03:12:49","slug":"check-55-way-connector-if-glow-plug-dtcs-are-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/?p=21125","title":{"rendered":"Check 55-Way Connector if Glow Plug DTCs are Set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There may be several glow plug DTCs set on some 2024-2026 Silverado 2500HD\/3500HD and Sierra 2500HD\/3500HD trucks equipped with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine (RPO L5P).<\/p>\n<p>DTCs may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>P066A (Cylinder 1 Glow Plug Control Circuit Low)<\/li>\n<li>P066C (Cylinder 2 Glow Plug Control Circuit Low)<\/li>\n<li>P066E (Cylinder 3 Glow Plug Control Circuit Low)<\/li>\n<li>P067A (Cylinder 4 Glow Plug Control Circuit Low)<\/li>\n<li>P067C (Cylinder 5 Glow Plug Control Circuit Low)<\/li>\n<li>P067E (Cylinder 6 Glow Plug Control Circuit Low)<\/li>\n<li>P068C (Cylinder 7 Glow Plug Control Circuit Low)<\/li>\n<li>P068E (Cylinder 8 Glow Plug Control Circuit Low)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These DTCs may be caused by a blown fuse or a bent terminal in the X950D 55-way (Engine Wiring Harness Chassis-to-Engine Wiring Harness) connector.<\/p>\n<p>If fuse F5 (F5BA) is open, it will result in cylinders 1, 4, 6 and 7 all setting DTCs simultaneously. If fuse F6 (F6BA) is open, it will result in cylinders 2,3,5 and 8 all setting DTCs simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>Terminal damage in the X950D 55-way connector also will result in individual DTCs setting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TIP:<\/strong> Do not replace or disturb any glow plugs before checking the Battery Distribution Unit (BDU) Fuse Assembly (Fig. 1) for a bent terminal in the X950D 55-way connector.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21128\" src=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/F01-Fuse-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/F01-Fuse-3.png 740w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/F01-Fuse-3-300x195.png 300w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/F01-Fuse-3-85x55.png 85w, https:\/\/gm-techlink.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/F01-Fuse-3-200x130.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Fig. 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Check for Blown Fuse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check for 12 volts at the BDU ring terminal while wiggling the cable. (Fig. 2) Some blown fuse conditions will intermittently make contact.
