DTC P2101 Set in History

DTC P2101 (Throttle Actuator Position Performance) may be set in history on some 2020-2021 CT5 models equipped with the 2.0L engine (RPO LSY). If DTC P2101 is set, complete all the published diagnostics in the appropriate Service Information for the DTC.

Unless the diagnostic procedure in the Service Information leads to replacement of the throttle body assembly for history DTC P2101, do not replace the throttle body assembly. (Fig. 17) Throttle body assemblies returned for warranty analysis have been inspected and tested with no trouble found.

The Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) system is controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM), which determines the driver’s intent based on input from the accelerator pedal position sensors and calculates the appropriate throttle response. The ECM achieves throttle positioning by providing a pulse width modulated voltage to the throttle actuator motor. The throttle blade is spring loaded in both directions, and the default position is slightly open. When the ECM detects a condition with the TAC system, the ECM may enter a reduced engine power mode. DTC P2101 may set if the vehicle battery is weak or the throttle blade is stuck.

If the Service Information diagnostics do not isolate a cause for DTC P2101 set in history, clear the code and operate the vehicle under the conditions necessary for running the DTC.

If DTC P2101 does not set again, return the vehicle to the customer.

    Better yet… How about .8 to change out both rear leaf springs on 2019 Silverado..They wonder why they cant keep Techs

    I HAVE AN HONEST QUESTION WHICH I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO DIRECT IT TO. IF WE ACTUALLY DO ALL THAT THIS ARTICLE DIRECTS AND DO NOT REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY, INCLUDING A GR8 TEST, THEN THE ONLY LABOR OPERATION THAT APPLIES IS CUSTOMER CONCERN NOT DUPLICATED. THIS ONLY PAYS .3 TO DO BECAUSE NO PARTS WERE INSTALLED. ALL THAT WORK OBVIOUSLY TAKES LONGER THAN THAT. WHO WOULD I DIRECT THIS QUESTION TO?
