Digital Climate Controls Limited on Some 2021-2022 Models

Feature content on 2021-2022 GM models is continuing to be affected by the industry-wide shortage of semiconductors. Beginning on August 23, 2021, some 2021 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 models as well as some 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD and Sierra 1500 Limited models will no longer offer the digital temperature display on the climate control knobs of the automatic climate control system. (Fig. 23)

Affected vehicles will have the added RPO 00D (Not equipped with climate control knobs digital temperature display). RPO 00D will be used to identify vehicles built without the digital temperature display.

The interior temperature will be accessible on the infotainment screen along with other climate control settings. (Fig. 24) No other climate control functions will be impacted by the change to the digital temperature display on the climate control knobs.

These production changes regarding the availability of the climate control knobs digital temperature display is currently expected to remain in place for the remainder of the 2021 model year and a significant portion of the 2022 model year.
