A rattle sound may be heard near the windshield on some 2027 Bolt models while driving over bumps at any speed. The sound may be due to a loose Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover Insert. (Fig. 9)

If this sound is heard, inspect the Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Brack Cover Insert behind the rearview mirror. (Fig. 10) Check for a lack of retention in the mounting tabs or any looseness near the rearview mirror mounting location.

If the cover is loose, remove the Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Brack Cover Insert following the appropriate Service Information procedure. Next, apply two 6.5mm x 6.5mm square pieces of 1mm-thick felt or flocking tape to the forward tabs of the cover insert. (Fig. 11)

Install both pieces as close as possible to the wall of the insert. The foam or flocking tape should be in contact with the two tuning bumps on the backside of the cover. (Fig. 12)

Once the tape is in place, reinstall the cover insert and verify the sound is no longer present.
