2022 OE Battery Ratings Chart

An updated Original Equipment (OE) Battery Ratings chart, with added specs for 2022 models, is now available under the Reference Charts menu for use when testing batteries using the EL-50313 GR8 Battery Tester/Charger and EL-52800 Diagnostic Charge Battery Station (DCBS). The chart includes cold cranking amperage (CCA), amp hours (AH) and reserve capacity (RC) ratings as well as battery type specifications for the 2019-2022 model years. (Fig. 7)

Correct battery CCA ratings and battery type are critical for proper test results. Access to the battery label, which contains the OE CCA rating and battery type, may be difficult on some models, depending on the battery location. Using the updated chart can help when setting up a proper battery test for the OE battery. If the original battery in the vehicle has been replaced, the OE information in the battery chart may not match the battery currently installed in the vehicle.

For more information on replacement batteries, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog.

Refer to the appropriate Service Information for details on proper battery testing. Go to General Information > General Information > Specifications > 12 Volt Battery Usage.

  1. When will the list update to the 2023 models?

  2. WILL TOOMBS says:

THE CCA ON A NEW 94RPG IS 800 THE FACTORY BATTERY IS 715. WE JUST HAD 2 KICKED BACK BECAUSE THE CCA. YOUR LIST SHOWS 720 BUT SAYS IF BATTERY REPLACED MAY NOT BE THE SAME. DO WE GO OFF THIS SHEET AND NOT THE BATTERY LABEL FIRST?

  3. The 2021-2022 Silverado 2500/3500 HD and Sierra 2500/3500 HD are equipped with flooded batteries, not AGM batteries. The chart is being updated.

  4. The 2021 2500HD pickups with the L8T 6.6 gas are all coming with flooded batteries but the chart shows AGM is this correct?

  5. why no LCF or MED DUTY RATINGS ?

  6. The Vehicle VIS will still have the RPO KL9-ENG CONTROL-STOP/START SYS and ENL-ENG CONTROL DISABLE START/STOP, but will also have an RPO NSS-CREDIT-NOT EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC STOP/START. These changes will not affect the battery specification and the chart is correct for affected models without Auto Stop/Start.

  7. hello, are they going to update the chart now we don’t have stop start on some vehicles

  8. The chart PDF can be printed using the browser print function.
