The Techline Connect (TLC) browser launch page (Fig. 3) for users in several U.S. states was updated recently to improve overall application stability, allow for faster updates and enhance resolution response to outages.

In addition, Service Information will now launch into a browser directly from TLC. (Fig. 4) Additional dealerships will receive the update over the next several weeks.

After the update, there will be four tabs (Fig. 5) to select from:
- Launch for launching TLC.
- Download to initially download and install.
- Service Information to launch Browser SI.
- Support for information on TLC support options.

When launching, there is an option to toggle “Launch TLC with administrative privileges” on or off. This selection will be dependent upon how the dealership’s local IT has set up each user’s local PC rights.
Downloading and Installation
The update will download and install automatically upon logging into Techline Connect with proper administrative rights.
When updating from one core version to the next, many firewalls/antivirus programs may recognize it as a new application and it may be necessary to contact your local IT support to allow normal functionality. As a user, full administrative rights are needed to install the update.

There are no plans to remove the SI link from GlobalConnect.
I meant, retain the ability to open service information from the GM global connect main webpage. in addition to through the TLC portal/TLC itself.
TLC will now launch SI in an external web browser. Please clarify the homepage changes you mention.
Please don’t remove the ability to go directly to SI from the homepage with this new introduction of launching SI through TLC site. It would add an un-necessary additional click and delay for the webpage to load that will add up to a LOT of lost time.
