GM has recently begun moving authentication for several applications, including Service Workbench and Techline Connect, to Microsoft Azure, which offers additional security, a variety of application development tools and an enhanced overall user experience. Eventually, access to all applications, including GlobalConnect, will be managed through Microsoft Azure.
Support Website
Through the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, GM will be able to develop and manage multiple applications using a scalable infrastructure. This website (GlobalConnect login required) offers a variety of information about the move to Azure. It includes a step-by-step guide on how to log in; FAQs for when getting an error screen when signing in and how to reset your password at the GlobalConnect screens; and other information related to Multifactor Authentication. A full roadmap for Azure includes a more secure user experience. New features include:
- Multifactor Authentication
- New GlobalConnect Admin tool
- Allowing dealerships who use Azure for their own purposes to use their dealership ID to sign into GM systems (Azure ID federation)
Login Help
When signing in, your GM Azure ID is the same ID as the one used for GlobalConnect, plus the GM specific domain of @vsp.autopartners.net added to the end of it. (Fig. 2) Your GM Azure ID password is the same one used to access GlobalConnect.

For more details, including any questions or issues with logging in, dealership personnel are encouraged to consult this website.
