Transmission Fluid Leak Near Torque Converter Housing

Some 2024-2025 Encore GX, Enclave, XT4, XT5, XT6, Blazer, Trailblazer, Traverse, Acadia, Terrain; and 2025 Equinox models equipped with the 9T45/50/60/65 9-speed automatic transmission (RPO M3F, M3U, M3H, M3T, M3G, M3W, M3V) or 8T45/65 8-speed automatic transmission (RPO MGH, MF8) may have a transmission fluid leak coming from the torque converter housing area. The leak may be due to insufficiently torqued transmission pump bolts. (Fig. 6)

If a leak is present near the torque converter housing area, check the transmission Julian build date listed in Bulletin #25-NA-001 and order the bolts required. (Fig. 7) The pump cover bolts are single use fasteners.

Once the bolts arrive at the dealership, remove the transmission and verify the transmission pump bolts are loose. If loose, replace all bolts and reinstall the transmission. (Fig. 8)
