There are several GM Accessories available that update the design and functionality of the outside rearview mirrors on 2022-2025 HUMMER EV models. (Fig. 1) GM Accessories range from different housing cover packages to HUMMER logo lamp installations, including the Outside Rearview Mirror Housing Cover Package and Outside Rearview Mirror Attachment Package.

Installing these accessories requires removal, not replacement, of the mirror glass. (Fig. 2) If proper care is not taken during the glass removal process, there is the possibility that the glass could break or be damaged. Damage to the mirror glass during removal is not covered by the new vehicle warranty.

Be sure to follow all the procedures covered in the latest Service Information and GM Accessory instructions, which have been updated with new information and procedures.
Mirror Glass Removal
Before attempting to remove the mirror glass, masking tape should be applied over the inboard edge of the glass and the outboard edge of the mirror housing. With the mirror housing in the outboard position, press the mirror glass inward until full travel is reached and then use two flat-bladed plastic trim tools — at the outboard edge and upper edge of the glass — to apply even pressure at the outer portion of the glass. Apply even pressure on the two trim tools until the mirror glass separates from the outside rearview mirror actuator. Pull outward to remove the glass from the actuator, and then disconnect the electrical connectors. (Fig. 4)
TIP: Use care when removing the mirror glass. Proper removal is important to avoid unwarrantable damage to the mirror glass.
