Vehicle Alignment and Super Cruise

After a wheel alignment, the Super Cruise system (RPO UKL) – Lane Active Safety-Keep Assist, Hands-Free Lane Following (Entire Speed Range) (Fig. 9) – may not center the vehicle properly on some 2021 Escalade; 2022-2024 HUMMER EV; and 2023-2024 Silverado 1500, Tahoe, Suburban, Sierra 1500 and Yukon models.

The condition may be due to the operation of the Image Processing Module. After an alignment, when Super Cruise is engaged, the vehicle may veer biased in the lane and center itself on the left-hand lane line. The vehicle will operate properly, and a steering pull may not be noticed, without Super Cruise engaged or if regular or adaptive cruise control is being used.

If these conditions are found, the Steering Wheel Position Sensor Centering learn procedure may not have been completed properly after a wheel alignment. (Fig. 10) Refer to Steering Wheel Position Sensor Centering in the appropriate Service Information.

The centering of the steering angle sensor is required after a wheel alignment and steering gear replacement. Using GDS2, learn procedures must be completed after these repairs for the Power Steering Control Module, Brake System Control Module and Image Processing Module on vehicles equipped with Super Cruise.
