If an error occurs when launching the Techline Connect (TLC) application, the first solution is often to try to restart TLC. If the application still does not start correctly, it may be necessary to uninstall and reinstall TLC.
The Techline Connect Install/Uninstall Guide has been updated to simplify the installation process for technicians. (Fig. 7) It covers how to download Techline Connect, uninstall the application, and install it using the TLC Installer file.
TLC may need to be reinstalled if:
- An error code is encountered while starting the application and a TLC restart does not resolve the issue.
- MDI connection issues occur when attempting to program and the MDI Manager shows a successful connection.
- TLC fails to launch after multiple retries.
- An “Unexpected Error” happens and a TLC restart does not resolve the issue.
TIP: Before troubleshooting any Techline Connect issues, be sure the PC meets the required technical specifications. Refer to the latest Dealer Infrastructure & Security Guidelines.
For any questions about Techline Connect features and operation, contact the Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC) at 1-800-828-6860 (English) or 1-800-503-3222 (French).

If G.M spent as much time making TLC work as it should,( i.e connectivity, and functional without constant issues), as they did worried about some non G.M tech using it. We may be able to fix the product in a more efficient manor. Now we have yet another step to take just to log into this poorly designed system. Not one of my techs, is interested in downloading your app into their phone. One day you executives will realize that technicians are getting harder to find, and keep. We just want to fix your product, in a timely efficient manor, and make a fair wage. We are required to take constant training, and non of us are making 65 dollars a flat rate hour ( like UAW unskilled laborers do) to deal with the constant TLC failures. P.S. I am a G.M tech of 20 years.
The snapdragon x elite processor is not a GM-supported processor. See the DISG PC Specs on Global Connect for further details. You can try to delete C:\ProgramData\TechlineConnect\TUM and try again, but even if you can get it to install correctly, GM does not support it and, therefore, TCSC would not be able to provide any future support.
This weekend, I got a Microsoft Surface laptop, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, windows 11 home which I bought the 11 pro upgrade, installed it, and snapdragon x elite processor. I’ve been attempting to download Techline connect all weekend and no success. First error message is IS102: mdi manager-3.0.1530.16 failed to install. Then I attempted to restart the way it says on the Techline install/uninstall link. Eventually I got a ueh101:null. What can I do?
