Get ‘Em While They Last: 2024 Camaro Collector’s Edition

As production of the sixth generation Camaro comes to an end, the legacy of the muscle car is being celebrated with a special Collector’s Edition (RPO Z4B) on the LT/RS, LT1, SS (Fig. 1) and ZL1 trims for the 2024 model year.

In addition to the Collector’s Edition models, the 2024 Camaro will be available in coupe and convertible on LT, LT1, SS and ZL1 trims, with 1LE remaining an available option on the SS trim and ZL1 trim in limited numbers. The LS model and the 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engine (RPO LTG) are no longer available. Power for the 2024 Camaro will come from the 3.6L V6 engine (RPO LGX), 6.2L V8 engine (RPO LT1) and the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (RPO LT4). (Fig. 2)

The Original Panther

Panther, the original code name for the program that became Camaro in the 1960s, provided inspiration for the Chevrolet Performance Design Studio in developing the Collector’s Edition models. The Camaro Collector’s Editions have unique front fender script badging that integrates a panther into the “R,” and a panther on the steering wheel badge.

On LT/RS, LT1 and SS trims, the Collector’s Edition features a new Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint (RPO GLK), Satin Black accent stripes, 20-inch Satin Black or optional Polished Forged Wheels and the front splitter from the 1LE package. Coupes also are equipped with the rear spoiler from the ZL1 package.

The ZL1 Collector’s Edition (Fig. 3), limited to 350 units, is powered by the 650-horsepower LT4 V8 engine. It features the front splitter from the ZL1 1LE and the rear wing from ZL1 1LE on coupes.

The ZL1 also sports a new Panther Black Matte exterior color (RPO GNW). The matte paint requires special care, and a brush-style car wash should not be used with these vehicles.

In the interior, all Collector’s Edition ZL1 vehicles have a serialized steering wheel badge representing where that vehicle was built in sequence. (Fig. 4)
