New Techline Connect Software Update Released

The September Techline Connect (TLC) software release includes several updates to enhance the performance of the application. The update should be downloaded automatically when logging in to Techline Connect. (Fig. 11)

Techline Connect Core Application

The core software update includes several fixes to reduce issues when running the application as well as when logging in or switching vehicles after closing SPS2.

In addition, several browser launch issues have been addressed, including when using the Launch Techline Connect button and signing in again once in standalone mode.

Coming up shortly, look for the rollout to begin to migrate dealerships to the required browser launch, which will enable a single sign-in to GlobalConnect for access to Techline Connect.

MDI/MDI 2

Software version 9.1.1957.116 also is being released to dealers on a staggered rollout. It contains several fixes and improvements that address connection issues. GlobalConnect messages to dealerships will precede each wave.

Application Updates

To ensure all updates are downloaded properly, make sure your dealership’s IT department correctly configures the security settings of all Techline PCs. In order for Techline Connect to properly run and update, you need to have full administrative rights on your PC.

To see if an update has been released and should have been downloaded, check the Messages box at the top of the Techline Connect Dashboard. A message will be sent out when an update has been released.

  1. How about some way to postpone the update? Very frustrating when starting GDS to check on something with an intermittent problem that is currently occurring and having to wait for the update to finish.
