If an error occurs when launching the Techline Connect (TLC) application, the first solution is often to try to restart TLC. However, it the application still does not start correctly, it may be necessary to uninstall and reinstall TLC.
To help dealership technicians with the installation process, a new Techline Connect Install/Uninstall Guide has been developed. (Fig. 3, see below) It covers how to download Techline Connect, uninstall the application, and install it using the TLC Installer file.
TLC may need to be reinstalled if:
- An error code is encountered while starting the application and a TLC restart does not resolve the issue.
- MDI connection issues occur when attempting to program and the MDI Manager shows a successful connection.
- TLC fails to launch after multiple retries.
- An “Unexpected Error” happens and a TLC restart does not resolve the issue. (Fig. 4)

Followed to the letter, still get unexpected error.
Just make the program have an executable in the folder location to uninstall easily or even allow you to perform a “repair” to the installation. Something that’s been a feature on programs since I was a kid.
On top of that a simple executable often has the options to Uninstall the program and it’s associated files.
That way you can just right click Techline, open File Location and run the uninstall exe.
Wouldn’t be right if we didn’t have to re-install Techline Connect every Monday morning, or 2-3 times a month.

NEED HELP TO GET A CASE #
I would think by now that the installer would have it’s own Uninstaller built in, accessible from the Start/GM folder and remove each phase for a proper re-install. For some this is a weekly endeavor, sadly.
