Some 2023-2025 Colorado and Canyon models may have a no start condition, a possible dead battery and multiple messages displayed on the Driver Information Center. There also may be several low voltage DTCs set.
These conditions may be caused by the cable clamp on the battery positive post. The positive battery cable clamp may not have been properly aligned before torque was applied to the nut.
To correct the low voltage condition, remove the positive battery cable from the battery and properly align the clamp as shown. (Fig. 9, incorrect (left) and correct (right) clamp alignment) The clamp bracket should fit together with the tab in the slot.
Fig. 9
If the clamp is damaged and the tab cannot be properly aligned in the slot or cannot be properly tightened to the post, replace the positive battery cable.
With the clamp properly aligned, torque the battery positive post clamp nut to 9 Nm (80 lb. in.) (Fig. 10)
