  2. Mark Alford says:

Chart says 8.0 quarts of oil for a L8T engine with filter. On first oil change drained and added 8.0 quarts of oil with new filter and the level on the dip stick was barely in the cross hatch area on the stick ? Is it possible the stick isn’t the correct length? Or the capacity doesn’t include the filter?
    Thanks.

  3. Hello,

Would there happen to be oil capacity reference charts around going back farther than 2012?

    Thank you!

  4. The 6.6L L8T engine uses 5W-30 oil. The chart has been updated. Thanks for the feedback.

  5. Lee Bramson says:

Can you please confirm the correct oil viscosity for a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, 6.6 L v8 RPO L8T ? The 2020 TECH LINK oil chart indicates that it should be 0w-20. The oil cap indicates that it requires 5w-30
