Accessing Air Ride Adaptive Suspension Data

The Air Ride Adaptive Suspension (RPO F47), available on 2021-2024 Escalade, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon; 2022-2025 HUMMER EVs; 2024-2025 Silverado EV and Sierra EV, adjusts the ride height of the vehicle to a desired level using the air springs of the vehicle suspension to compensate for variations in vehicle loads as well as to enhance vehicle performance and usability. (Fig. 7)

In some cases, it may not be possible to access the pressure data in GDS 2 or to perform the Automatic Level Control Trim Height Learn after a repair. An error message also may be seen that the request is rejected by the control module. (Fig. 8) These concerns may be due to the vehicle being in the incorrect power mode.

During diagnosis and repairs, make sure the vehicle is in Service mode and not in Propulsion mode. While in Service mode, pressure data will be available and the Trim Height Learn procedure can be performed.

TIP: When working on the suspension, make sure the suspension system is in Service Mode, which will completely disable the air suspension, by selecting the Suspension > Service Mode option in the Vehicle Settings on the infotainment screen. Service Mode is automatically enabled when the vehicle is raised on a hoist or a floor jack and automatically disabled when vehicle speed exceeds 10 mph (16 km/h).

Service Mode

To enter Service mode on vehicles with push-button start, press and hold the engine start/stop push-button for 5 seconds without the brake pedal applied. The remote key fob must be in the vehicle.

To enter Service mode on passive mode vehicles (Hands-Free Start without a push-button), the vehicle must be off, the driver’s door open, the brake pedal not applied and the remote key fob in the vehicle. Press and release the accelerator pedal three times (within 5 seconds), keeping the accelerator pedal pressed the third time until the vehicle enters Service mode.
